How We Keep Our Patients Safe with TELEMEDICINE.

Telemedicine is the use of telecommunication and information technology to provide clinical health care from a distance. It has been used to overcome distance barriers and to improve access to medical services that would often not be consistently available in distant, rural communities.

It is also used to save lives in critical care and emergency situations and is being encouraged during this critical time when "social distancing" is necessary in capping the spread of Covid-19.

.“Telehealth is really instrumental in containing and treating disease, particularly in a public health emergency,” said Megan O'Reilly, a lobbyist with AARP, the advocacy group for older people, which pushed for the telemedicine provisions in Washington. “For older Americans, this can help keep them safe."
