Even though summer is over, there are still plenty of reasons to travel. Maybe you have a business trip, friends and relatives to visit, or you are venturing out on the vacation of a lifetime.

The thought of having to bring along your bulky CPAP machine might have you thinking about avoiding or canceling your travel plans. You may even be thinking about leaving the CPAP machine behind so you don’t have to worry about the hassle.

Wherever your travel takes you, remember that your sleep apnea will tag along as a travel companion. You can’t take a vacation from your apnea and not using your CPAP therapy while you are away can increase your risk for serious health complications.

Luckily, there are two new travel-sized CPAP machines available that can make traveling a whole lot easier. So you can have your trip without the worry and hassle of bringing a bulky machine alone.

DreamStation GO

The DreamStation Go provides an easy, reliable and portable CPAP experience for an easier travel experience. The DreamStation Go weighs less than two pounds and features small and light tubing making it easy to take your therapy on the go.

Flexible Power Options

The DreamStation Go allows you to travel to areas with limited or no power. The machine features an overnight battery that allows you to travel to remote areas where you might not have access to electricity. The DreamStation Go also has a USB port so you can charge your mobile device.

The battery runs for an average of 13 hours depending on what level of pressure you run. The battery run times may also be less depending on excessive mask leakage, altitude, temperature, or if you are charging devices with the USB port. The battery recharges after 4-5 hours of being plugged into a power source.

The DreamStation Go also has an optional integrated, rechargeable battery that can deliver CPAP therapy for up to two nights.

Designed for Travel

Traveling doesn’t mean you have to lose track of how your therapy is progressing.

You can sign up for DreamMapper to track your therapy even when you are away from home. You can also track and monitor your progress with both your home and travel CPAP machines so that tracking your therapy is seamless wherever you go.

The DreamStation Go features the newest 12mm micro-flexing tubing, which is Philips Respironic’s smallest and lightest tubing available. Compared to the 22mm standard tubing, DreamStation Go’s tubing is significantly smaller yet it still easily connects to any type of CPAP mask.

The DreamStation Go also features:

  • Small, light, portable CPAP travel technology
  • Optional rechargeable battery
  • USB port for charging mobile devices
  • DreamMapper app compatible
  • Flex technology for exhale comfort
  • Smart ramp feature
  • Optional clam shell carry bag designed to streamline airport screening
  • FAA approved CPAP travel ready

The DreamStation Go standard CPAP machine has a third fewer parts to pack than comparable sized machines. The power pack is built into the machine so that bulky parts are eliminated.

You can also use the DreamStation Go as your full-time CPAP since the machine was designed to be both used both in the home and while you are traveling.

The small, lightweight DreamStation Go comes with the patented Flex technology. Flex technology softens the transition from iwhen you breathe in and out by providing pressure relief when you first start to breathe out.

You also have the option of adjusting the level of air pressure relief when you breath out. This can make all the difference in comfortably being able to breathe out against a higher-pressure setting.

The DreamStation Go also comes standard with altitude compensation for the times when you are traveling to higher altitudes.

ResMed AirMini

The ResMed AirMini makes it simple to bring your CPAP therapy with you whether you’re vacationing or traveling for business. The AirMini is classified as the world’s smallest CPAP, which means the possibilities for your travel plans are endless.

The AirMini features an auto set functionality as well as a built-in humidification system, which makes a more comfortable experience for you. And at just 0.68 pounds, you don’t have to worry about lugging around extra weight in your luggage.

Power Options

The AirMini currently does not have the option for a battery pack, but ResMed is in the process of developing one. Travel is limited to areas where you would have access to electricity and outlets.

Designed for Travel

The AirMini is the perfect travel size and features a small disposable waterless humidifier about the diameter of a quarter.

The AirMini's waterless humidifier allows you to have quality therapy wherever you go and is designed to improve moisture levels for your comfort.

The humidifier, called the HumidX, features portable and convenient waterless humidification so you don’t have to worry about brining along distilled water. The HumidX is best suited for areas with average humidity and climate.

The HumidX Plus was created for travel in dry climates, like an aircraft cabin. Both the HumidX and the HumidX Plus allows you to be more comfortable by balancing the moisture content of the air you breathe in while doing your CPAP therapy.

You can control the AirMini from your smart phone with the AirMini app. Simply download the app, connect via Bluetooth and enjoy access to a range of comfort settings that will help you get a restful night’s sleep. The AirMini app also provides access to your sleep score each morning and 30-day history, so you can continue tracking your sleep on the go.

The AirMini has a special mounting system, which allows you to secure your machine to various places such as a bedframe, a wall, or even the airplane seat pocket.

 The AirMini also featues:

  • Small, quiet, and comfortable CPAP travel technology
  • Compatible with popular ResMed CPAP masks
  • Bluetooth connection to AirMini App
  • Effective waterless humidification
  • Pressure relief and auto start and stop
  • Premium travel bag and accessories
  • For use in CPAP or APAP Mode
