The term or rather job title “baby sleep consultant” has one that has gained a lot of popularity, particularly over the past few years. For parents struggling to get their babies to sleep who are really in need of the services of a baby sleep consultant, it can be very hard to know what to expect. I mean anyone who is sleep-deprived will relate that ultimately if the person can help their baby to sleep and therefore the get the parents more sleep, it does not really matter “what” they specifically do – right?

Well, we thought the below infographic was really great at shedding some light on the detail and perhaps structure to what a baby sleep consultant might do if you choose to hire them. Don’t see this as a one size fit all approach however, every consultant might have slight differences in their approach. That said this should provide a realistic set of expectations to the process you might go through in selecting your consultant. This guide also will give parents some questions to ask the consultant before hiring them to make sure they know exactly what they should expect from each package. Best of luck!

Hopefully with just a few tweaks, you’ll be able to help your baby learn how to fall asleep on his or her own, giving everyone in your home some well-deserved rest. However, the long-term effects of sleep deprivation can be critical. If you’re finding that your little one is still not getting enough sleep at night, or you yourself are developing insomnia after countless nights of unrest, reach out to your nearest sleep clinic for an evaluation.
Luckily, the sleep experts here at Alaska Sleep Clinic know all about sleep dilemmas, from insomnia to Obstructive Sleep Apnea. If you live in the Anchorage, Alaska area, then be sure to give our experts a call for a free 10-minute consultation.
